By professionals for professionals

We approach issues in a practical way. Our farmers, Marek, Malika, Anh, and Alma, face a variety of challenges. They deal with leaf discoloration, quality issues, and yield problems. Together, we investigate the underlying causes step by step and support the farmers as they find solutions. In the process, we incidentally learn what is important for balanced, needs-based fertilization.

Course 1

Basics of Plant Nutrition

Cross-section of soil with a plant, showing the roots and different soil layers.

This course is about the basics. What influences soil fertility? Which macro- and micronutrients exist? What is balanced fertilization? Our farmers face unique challenges on their land. We will guide you step by step through the most important basics of plant nutrition with clear explanations using these examples. Even professionals can learn something new here. Do you know how to avoid nutrient interactions and ensure ideal nutrient efficiency?

Magnesium – The Underestimated Nutrient

Plant roots in the soil, surrounded by magnesium ions (Mg).

When it comes to fertilization, is nitrogen the first thing that comes to mind? You're not alone. However, we'd like to draw your attention to magnesium first. It offers a wealth of untapped potential in terms of crop yield, quality, and stress tolerance. In this course, we'll explain how farmers Marek, Malika, Anh, and Alma are getting more out of their crops thanks to magnesium. Magnesium is essential for photosynthesis, root growth, and yield formation. Did you know that the form of the nutrient makes a significant difference when fertilizing with magnesium?

Boron – For Root and Flower

Illustration of a plant absorbing boron (B) from the soil and its surroundings.

Flowers, buds, and fruits require boron for proper development. It is less well known that boron is also necessary for healthy root growth. The required amount varies depending on the plant species. Too much boron is toxic, and too little impairs development. Therefore, it is worthwhile to collaborate with farmers to learn more about boron. Did you know that boron moves only in one direction within plants? What conclusions can be drawn from this regarding fertilization?
