Team Player with Depth
Jutta Beuscher usually arrives at work just before eight, deliberately arriving a little later than many of her colleagues. "That way, I can cover both shifts," she says. This combination of pragmatism and closeness to her colleagues sets her apart and contributes to her success at K+S.
Two worlds, one goal
Jutta Beuscher joined K+S in July 2023 as Head of Production/Technology Above Ground and Deputy Plant Manager. Since March 2025, she has also been in charge of underground operations at the Braunschweig-Lüneburg site. Her team now has over 150 employees. "Of course, it's a big responsibility. But I don't see myself as a boss in an ivory tower. I want to be approachable." Her office? An open door. Her attitude? Uncomplicated and direct.
Whether above or below ground, Beuscher prefers to be in the thick of things. However, her day-to-day work involves many meetings, desk work, and coordination. "I still try to drop in on my colleagues in the various departments regularly," she says.

From road construction to mining
Even though her path to this goal was not straightforward, it became clear early on that Jutta Beuscher would one day become a mining engineer. Growing up in the rural area of Detmold, where her parents owned a road construction company, technology was part of her everyday life and her toys. While other children played with dolls, she and her twin sister preferred sitting on excavators.
Initially, she began studying metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University but then switched to mining. "It combined everything that interested me: technology, as well as legal and economic aspects," she said. Her focus was on processing and refining—a recurring theme throughout her professional career.
Before joining K+S, Jutta Beuscher worked at several renowned mechanical engineering companies, including Hazemag, Sandvik, and most recently, Köppern, a potash press specialist. She sold complete processing plants and specialized in process engineering. "K+S had been a customer for many years, so I was very familiar with the industry."
It was therefore no coincidence that she eventually joined the company, but rather a conscious decision. However, commuting between her home in Düsseldorf and her second home in Wolfsburg is challenging. "Of course, it's tiring sometimes. But the position was too interesting to turn down."
Women's power in Braunschweig-Lüneburg
Unlike in her previous career, Jutta Beuscher has never experienced gender-specific problems in the traditionally male-dominated mining industry at K+S. “Work is work – for me, there are no male or female jobs.” Perhaps this is also due to the fact that the core management team at the Braunschweig-Lüneburg site is firmly in female hands. In addition to Beuscher as Head of Production/Technology above and below ground, Dorothee Telaar is Plant Manager and Kathrin Wöhlbier is responsible for Human Resources in the East.
Private life: boxing gloves, dog paws, and a heart for people
Beuscher has enjoyed sports since childhood. She played handball and basketball and participated in track and field. Later, she took up fitness boxing. Since moving to Wolfsburg, however, she has somewhat fallen out of practice. One thing that never falls by the wayside is her little terrier mix, whom she rescued from an animal shelter many years ago. "She's getting older, so we often travel by car so she can come with us." They recently took her on a trip to Corsica.
Beuscher lives in Düsseldorf, is in a relationship, is a vegetarian, and enjoys international cuisine. She also volunteers once a month at a German Red Cross care facility. "This change of perspective gives me a lot," she says.

Jutta Beuscher is a woman who listens, gets things done, and takes responsibility for her actions. She is an engineer, manager, dog owner, commuter, volunteer, and, above all, a true team player with a clear eye for what matters.
"What I do has to make sense — for the team, for the company, and for myself." This attitude is precisely what makes her a strong backbone of the Braunschweig-Lüneburg site.
