Site Neuhof-Ellers certified according to DIN ISO 14001

17.08.2023
On June 12, 2023, the ISO 14001 certificate was received at Neuhof-Ellers. The Neuhof-Ellers plant thus received the official certificate for its environmental management system. The plant is thus committed to environmental protection and sustainable management in accordance with the climate targets set by K+S.

The Neuhof Ellers site had its residue management certified by DEKRA, as this area has the greatest impact on the environment. Potash production generates unavoidable solid residues as well as saline tailings water, which must be disposed of properly.

With its environmental management system for residue management now certified, the Neuhof-Ellers plant can demonstrate that its processes are designed to minimize the impact on the environment.

The ISO 14001 certificate as a quality seal for Neuhof-Ellers

The certification enables the Neuhof-Ellers plant to demonstrate that its environmental management system meets the requirements of ISO 14001 and thus the internationally recognized standard. The claim to act sustainably and to keep environmental impacts as low as possible is not only formulated by the company itself, but also confirmed by an independent, external certification body.

Through annual inspections by DEKRA, which are carried out to obtain the certificate, the Neuhof-Ellers plant must henceforth ensure that the rules laid down are observed and internalized by the employees. This is done by means of regular internal plant training courses and reviews of environmental performance.

Regular recertification also provides an opportunity for continuous improvement, making processes even more environmentally friendly in the future and minimizing further environmental impacts.
