Product information

Due to a highly advanced crystallization process, it is a particularly pure and white high-quality product with a sodium chloride content of typically 99.9 %. It is available in a wide range of grain sizes and package sizes, in both dried and undried forms as well as in compacted form, and thus meets the high standards of the industry.

Industrial application

ABS/EPS plastics

Magnesium sulphate anhydrous is used as production accessorie in the production of thermoplastics such as ABS plastics (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) or EPS (expandable polystyrene), which are used across the globe. The big advantage is the lower corrosion level compared to other salts.

Detergents and cleaning agents

Sodium chloride is used as a basic ingredient in detergent processing. When used as an ingredient in heavy-duty detergents, magnesium sulfate helps protect fabrics and has a neutral behaviour towards waste water. In liquid soaps, laundry detergents, and rinsing agents, magnesium sulfate is used to regulate viscosity.

Oil and gas

Drilling is a sensitive business. The minerals of K+S for the oil and gas industry are the perfect match for fluids and refinery processes.

Leather

In leather production, sodium chloride is used for the traditional preservation and preparation of animal hides. It has antibacterial properties and draws water out of the hides, thereby slowing down decomposition processes and stabilizing the hides for further processing.

Magnesium sulphate prevents leather from drying out and makes it more supple. It also promotes the binding of tanning agents.

Metalworking (as a hardening, soldering, and melting salt)

In metalworking, sodium chloride is used as a basic material.
Potassium chloride is important in metallurgical processes. For example, potassium chloride is used as hardening and soldering salts, as well as in foundry chemistry as melting salts.

Paints and pigments

Sodium Chloride or potassium compounds are used in the manufacture of dyes and pigments. Due to its high sodium chloride content, industrial salt is used as a natural dyeing aid.

Textiles

In the textile industry, industrial sodium chloride is used as dye enhancer in the processing and refining of fabrics. When used in a dye bath, salt ensures that the color fully penetrates the fabric. The catalytic effect of magnesium sulphate is necessary for the production of non-iron textile materials.
