Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly organized and commercially astute Purchase Manager / Assistant, at the earliest possible date of entry, to lead procurement activities within the fertilizer sector. This role is not just about placing orders; it requires a strategic partner who understands the nuances of chemical compositions, seasonal demand, and the complexities of logistics within the Middle East and Africa.

The successful candidate will leverage an existing regional network to secure favorable terms and ensure a consistent supply of products to meet our expanding market footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Procurement: Manage the full purchasing lifecycle for bulk and specialty fertilizers, from initial RFQ (Request for Quote) to final delivery and inventory reconciliation.
  • Supplier Identification & Audit: Source new international and regional producers; conduct due diligence to ensure suppliers meet our strict quality, environmental, and financial compliance standards.
  • Contractual Negotiation: Negotiate complex trade agreements, focusing on volume discounts, lead times, and favorable payment terms (including LC, DP, and CAD).
  • Regional Logistics Coordination: Work closely with operations teams to manage shipping schedules, vessel chartering, or containerized freight, ensuring all regional customs and import/export regulations are met.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide regular reports on global raw material price trends (e.g., Ammonia, Potash, Sulfur) and regional agricultural cycles to optimize buying windows.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, the sales team, and the finance department to ensure seamless cash flow and stock availability.
