HD NaCl is obtained from a particularly pure brine using a highly developed evaporated salt process. It meets the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and exceeds the strict purity requirements of various pharmacopoeias. HD NaCl contains no additives and complies with Ph. EUR and USP.

Packaging

HD-NaCl sodium chloride K+S is packaged and stored separately from all other production facilities in defined areas. HD-NaCl is produced and analyzed in individual batches. A certificate of analysis is sent with each delivery.

Potassium chloride and sodium chloride are essential components in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The principle of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis is similar: the blood is continuously filtered through a membrane (dialyzer) in a circuit. The rinsing fluid (dialysate) is used to wash out the toxins in the blood as well as to return salts, nutrients, and electrolytes (e.g., sodium, potassium) to the blood. These substances are important, among other things, for balancing the patient's acid-base balance.

Potassium chloride and sodium chloride can be found in numerous medicines as active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) or as excipients.

Potassium and sodium are among the minerals absolutely required by the body and are an essential part of most pharmaceuticals/medications, for example in pain-relieving toothpastes or in laxatives. Potassium chloride is also used to treat hypokalemia.

Potassium chloride and sodium chloride are essential components of ORS / electrolyte-containing beverages.
The salts play an important role in balancing the water and electrolyte balance in the body.

Electrolyte-containing beverages with sodium and potassium salts are used to compensate for electrolyte loss after dehydration. Besides special drinks for athletes, standardized electrolyte solutions are ideal for restoring the electrolyte balance to the necessary equilibrium after severe electrolyte loss (e.g., diarrhea, vomiting, heat stroke).

Potassium chloride and sodium chloride from K+S are used, among other things, for the production of the World Health Organization (WHO) ORS drinking solution.
