Then the Mining Trainee Program at K+S is perfect for you! After an intensive introductory phase at the Kassel site, you will begin at least two exciting practical assignments at various K+S Group mining sites in Germany. Each assignment lasts at least six months and provides the opportunity to take on responsible tasks, such as supervising underground mining operations, in a timely manner. Through these experiences, you will gain valuable practical experience and deepen your knowledge.

• Gain insight into underground extraction processes. Learn about the machines, equipment, and mining infrastructure involved.
• Underground collaboration: Support supervisors and, where applicable, independently manage employees.
• Safety first: Introduction to safety equipment and consistent application of all occupational safety measures.
• Expand your specialist knowledge in areas such as geology, extraction cycles, and stability assurance.
  Teamwork in mining operations: Close cooperation with all departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of operational processes.
• Independent project work: You will work on specific problems in ongoing operations.
• Mine management up close: During your approximately 12-month assignment, you will learn about the work of the staff department and support our mine operations assistants and mine management engineers.

• Degree: Relevant field of study in mining or related subjects
• Passion for mining
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility, resilience, service orientation, and good communication skills
• Very good written and spoken German skills (at least level B2 required)

After completing the program, possible positions and activities include:

• Staff position supporting plant and production management in operational, investment, and operating cost planning
• Project work for the development and introduction of new machines and processes
• Operational monitoring and optimization
• Line responsibility with management of areas of mining operations
