Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Total Rewards & HRIS, within the People & Communications department, you will be instrumental in the development, analysis, and implementation of our compensation and benefits programs. The Total Rewards Specialist is a driving force behind ensuring our programs are not only competitive and compliant but also innovative, engaging, and aligned with our organizational strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze and evaluate various compensation elements (including base salary, incentive programs and job evaluation) to ensure competitiveness and alignment with organizational goals

  • Participate in surveys to benchmark compensation and Total Rewards programs, gathering data on industry compensation trends

  • Design and recommend new programs or revisions to existing programs, keeping in mind continuous improvement and positive employee experience

  • Monitor the effectiveness of our Total Rewards programs, including benefits, retirement and wellness initiatives

  • Dive deep into data to uncover actionable insights that inform our strategies and drive business outcomes

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop communication strategies that engage and inform employees about their Total Rewards

  • Cultivate relationships with external vendors and consultants to ensure program efficiency and effectiveness

  • Provide expert support to our People & Communications team on all aspects of Total Rewards, including regulatory compliance, policy development and program implementation

Requirements

Your Profile

Our company values and recognizes the diversity of the workforce and encourages individuals with the equivalent combination of education and work experience. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Total Rewards, preferably compensation

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Proven track record of driving process improvements

  • Proficiency in HRIS (preferably Workday) and other HR technology

This role is a term position, extending to December 31, 2024.

This role can be located at the Bethune mine or our Saskatoon head office, as well as having flexibility for hybrid work.

Employment is subject to successfully completing KSPC's pre-employment checks which may include criminal record check, education verification, and drug & alcohol testing.
