Reporting to Superintendent, Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a small team of project engineers and contract staff. You will create and manage work tasks and assignments and ensure their timely completion. This position is expected to lead and provide strategies for project engineering and subsequently how it functions within the KSPC capital projects, maintenance, and productions teams. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Define, quantify, and create scope definition of each project such that an engineering firm can create a proposal to complete the required phase of engineering for that project
Supervisor and Lead Project and Technologies Project Engineering Team
Enforcement of stage gate control procedures, documents, workflows, work instructions
Liaise with Procurement, Project Management, Maintenance, and Production teams
Continuous improvement initiatives
Responsible to ensure all projects follow the KSPC projects stage gate from conception to closeout
Provide information and updates to overall project portfolio list, assisting project priority management
Support development on MTP and develop execution plan for projects as they are identified and approved
Project Coordination through supporting engineering management for all major Project FEL 0 – Detailed Engineering Project Phases
Supports the project management team with the overall Planning in all major Project FEL 0 – Execution Project Phases
Vendor Coordination for equipment supply packages
Supports the discipline Engineer with coordination of supply packages
Assists with planning, estimating, and development of schedules

- 10+ years experience in a heavy industrial setting, potash experience preferred
- 10+ years experience project management experience on large multi year projects
- 5+ years demonstrated people leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Strong project management skills including demonstrated facilitation skills
- PMP designation preferred but not required
- P.Eng designation required
- Experience working/communicating with government and regulatory groups
